With most OBX vacationers looking on-line for their next vacation home, our website is optimized for mobile marketing and we have software integration with third-party listing portals like Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway and Trip Advisor.

That means vacationers can reserve your home online with a credit card and you will have real-time calendar updates through the owner portal where you can log in to your owner account to see your reservations, reserve weeks for your family, and view owner statements/work orders for your home.

Our marketing includes staging services for your home before photographs are taken, professional photography and interactive floor plan tours through TruPlace. We also offer Aerial and nighttime photos to set your property apart online. We have an active social media presence on Facebook, e-mail marketing, and even have a current campaign capturing vacationer emails on our FreeOBXVacation.com site.

Since many vacationers spend time while they are here scoping out their vacation house for the next year, we had eye-catching reflective “vacation here” signs made and installed in neighborhoods where that is in compliance with HOA guidelines and have brochure boxes on them so vacationers can pick up a flyer with information about renting your house any time they walk by.


Quality Care for Your Investment


We create a positive experience for guests by providing them with a clean, well-appointed home. Cleanliness is the most important basic aspect of a pleasurable vacation experience.

The Great Escapes housekeeping department creates a welcoming environment in your home before each guest arrives with beds made prior to check in, luxury bath towels for each guest, hand soap at every sink, bath tissue in bathrooms and a welcome gift basket full of items to start off each week.

Your home will have the same housekeeper and inspector dedicated for the year to keep continuity and the same great presentation of your home to each week’s vacationers and also to keep track of any items that may be missing or in need of repair. Great Escapes housekeepers and inspectors are employees and know the homes.

Every vacationer is covered by accidental damage insurance up to $1500 per week. In 2015, our insurance company paid EVERY claim submitted on behalf of our owners. All our homes have KABA electronic locks so you don’t have to worry about how many people have keys to your home.

We can see in real time when your door opens and can tell who is entering your home by the unique code they use. In addition, we walk through your home monthly during the off season to make sure all is well so you will have peace of mind knowing your home is safe and secure.

By keeping your home in great condition and making smart maintenance choices with an eye toward the future, everything we do is to increase your bottom line annually with solid bookings and reasonable fees while increasing your property value over time by having a plan for improving it as repairs are needed.

You’ll have great curb appeal because we cover everything from power washing to lawn service. We will work with you to increase your property value and provide value for your vacationers by giving every space in your home a purpose. For example, are your decks utilized for shade and the sun? Is there a table perfect for drinks beside your hot tub? Does your house look happy and welcoming? Is there a porch swing or hammock? Are you utilizing your yard for volleyball, horseshoes or shuffleboard? Does your home have ample seating around the pool or special areas for kids? Are your home electronics up to date? Do you have books in the children’s bedroom and board games for rainy days?


Most vacationers do not eat in restaurants and will be cooking for their whole family in your kitchen. We’ll provide you with a standard inventory list for your kitchen and the rest of your home in your property management agreement and provide you with an annual inventory and action plan for you to sign off on each fall to keep your home in rental ready condition and plan for improvements we can make as repairs are needed.
